Great food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The prices are also very reasonable.
OMG great breakfast. BBQ omelet is heaven. And biscuit is delicious. Blueberry coffee love!!! Had no room to fit in the grits. Wish they would ditch the styrofoam and get eco friendly disposable containers/utensils esp since so close to the river.
The Southern Grille is the best place ever. As soon as you drive up the live band is playing up beat music that makes you want to dance. When you walk in the atmosphere is laid back and inviting. The food was good but my teriyaki chicken was a little salty not for every health level. But the drinks taste a little light on the alcohol until you start sipping then pow it hits you. For a light weight like myself and my spouse one cup was enough. All in all the music, the food, the ambience was on point. If you want to just relax have a good time with no drama then go to southern grille all attire welcome.
I was in town for business. We ended up eating here three times. I got something different every time and was pleasantly surprised that the food was phenomenal every single time. The staff was super friendly and fast for the number of people there. During one lunch, there was a dude cooler than a penguins pecker who was playing the blues. This is a must-have visit for folks in Jacksonville.
I had the half slab of smoked pork ribs with collards and cabbage. The ribs were tender, cabbage a little light on seasoning, but the spicy collards made up for it. The dinner also comes with crisp garlic toast. Happy hour Monday thru Friday from 4-7 made this dinner extra yummy, with a variety of bands that seem to play in the adjacent patio, streamed into the venue on several of their12 big screens, along with the news and winter Olympics. The staff was very friendly and pleasant, which made up for the star I would have taken away because drinks, cutlery, and barbecue sauce were self serve. They also have a cool aquarium and full bar.
Within walking distance of the hotels on the riverfront. Order at the counter, food was brought to the table. Ate two dinners there. We did eat early, so I'm not sure how crowded it gets. Small restaurant, but there is outdoor seating. First night wings and potato salad. Both good. Second night enough spaghetti to feed a small family! with a small salad. Husband got black beans and rice. It was also a very generous serving. Food arrived quickly. Servers nice. Self-serve drinks.
Absolutely 💯 one of my favorite restaurants ever to go to. On Friday nights , happy hour with the band is my happy place where the atmosphere is nice and children friendly. I can say that the adult beverages are also very good, you get your money worth. A great variety of meals to choose from on the menu and it’s shareable. I personally love their wings. All I can say is that the Staff and Jorey the owner, are simply the Best, and they aim to please all of there customers💯
Found this place while searching for a local spot to eat, and it did not disappoint! The food came out hot, fresh, and super tasty. The pulled pork cheddar bacon burger was amazing—rich, flavorful, and just the right amount of everything. The location is easy to get to from downtown via the sky tram, which made the trip simple and convenient. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are friendly, and everything felt welcoming. It’s exactly the kind of place you want for a casual meal that’s satisfying and well done. I’m definitely planning to come back soon to try more menu items. Between the quality of the food, the convenience, and the great service, it’s a solid local spot that I’ll happily recommend.
If you don't care for Southern food, some food the sandwiches. The pastrami was out of this world! I loved the option to sit outside in the patio, because it was chilly inside. They were busy, but we didn't have to wait to long to be served. Blessings
Omg the staff there is so tremendous and make you feel welcomed. They are so kind and give me my meal in a decent time. I was floored how good the food. Highly recommend anyone to try this bar.
